The Allen Foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations working to improve human nutrition through health, education, training, and research. Priority is given to initiatives that promote early nutritional education for mothers and children, train educators in healthful practices, and support nutritional research and emergency hunger relief. The foundation also encourages dissemination of reliable dietary information and may consider proposals from hospitals, clinics, schools, and community organizations, especially those offering matching funds or in-kind support. U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organizations are eligible, and international applicants must demonstrate equivalent nonprofit status. Allen Foundation will consider requests from the following: hospitals or medical clinics; social, religious, fraternal, or community organizations; private foundations; and K-12 public, parochial or private schools
